Required for all licensed hunters over the age of 16 who will be hunting migratory birds in New Hampshire. You will need your current year (or permanent) NH Hunting License number. A HIP Permit number will be generated, this must be written on your annual license or carried with your permanent license. This information is required by the US Fish and Wildlife Service to better manage migratory bird populations; a HIP Survey is required in each state you intend to hunt migratory game birds. In New Hampshire the migratory game birds include: all ducks, geese (including resident geese), snipe, coots and woodcock.
